Documents You Need Before Departure

Being organised with your paperwork saves stress at the airport and after arrival. Here is a checklist of what every departing worker should carry.

Essentials include a valid passport, your work visa, the labour approval (shram swikriti), your signed employment contract, and your flight ticket. Keep both originals and photocopies in separate bags.

Also carry your medical certificate, pre-departure orientation card, academic and trade certificates, passport-size photos, and your employer's and agency's contact details. A small amount of local currency is useful for the first days.

Double-check everything a week before you fly, and confirm your details with your agency. Preparation is the difference between a smooth journey and a stressful one.
